The Elements of an Ouv'huître

The polyamide base is injection moulded from recycled material. This process produces a single-piece component (no welding or gluing) that is highly resistant for its intended use: opening oysters.

The wooden base is made from a single piece of wood that undergoes several processes, such as cutting, drilling and polishing. This base is therefore also a single piece. The wood selected is hard and non-tannic to resist abrasion from the oysters and the seawater released when they are opened.

The stainless steel knife, which, as its name suggests, is made from stainless steel. This material was chosen because of the salinity of the water that flows out of the oyster when it is opened.

The ergonomic knife takes its name from its moulded handle, which provides greater comfort and improved usability for opening oysters. It is produced by a cutler. This knife is also made of stainless steel.

The fixing bracket holds the oyster opener in place on a surface that must be less than 10 cm thick (table, worktop, workbench, etc.). It is made of stainless steel. Its 5 mm thickness makes it non-deformable and gives the oyster openers great stability for opening oysters.
